Did you know? Some of us are taking the Bible in 90 Days Challenge!

I took the plunge for The Bible in 90 Days Challenge! So, I decided to get a head start and tried out meeting the first goal of reading 12 pages. I appreciated Pastor Bryan’s "Overview of the Bible" in the series "The BIBLE," and was able to reflect on his diagram as I started reading Genesis. It was interesting reading about the creation again as we tend to focus on the creation of light, Adam and Eve, eating the forbidden fruit, and Cain and Abel. Yet, we miss the growth of vegetation, the importance of the “two great lights”, and the living creatures. I could envision the earth coming alive with all of the opportunities we have to work, foods to eat, and ways to cherish our lives in this world today. I am only on day 1, and I see the value of this experience of reading the Bible cover to cover.

Writing this piece, I received Bryan’s daily devotional with this verse from Romans 12:2: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. This was another God moment for me, since it says to me that I could be transformed by reading, discussing, and connecting to others by reading the Bible in the next 90 days rather than doing my usual routine. I already see the earth coming alive in a way that I didn’t remember from reading Genesis before. Who knows what I will see when I read more?
